Balayage
Hand Painted Highlights

As an alternative to foiling, Balayage offers clients a more European look. The highlights have a softer appearance
with a more natural out-growth. The hairdresser can use creativity and artistic ability to personalize the placement of
each lightened strand.

BALAYAGE or BALLIAGE means to sweep, this term is currently used is reference to a highlighting technique
brushing in a thick lightning agent with the assistance of a paddle. This is done to create flattering and warm natural
and golden chromamodulations (mixes of colors) in the hair.

This style of lightning the hair was originally done by painting lightning agent onto a comb and combing it into the
hair. As time has passed and better product and technique has developed it has turned into a sophisticated
technique that can be done on almost any color of hair. Low lights can be done at the same time as the Balayage.
